Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island) is a Small Island with an area of 18.9 Sq. Km at Andaman Island. The Island is located 40 kilometres north-east of Port Blair. The Island is spread in the length of 5 and one can walk the whole island in about 1 to 2 hours only. The approx population of this island is around 3500 and live in five villages i.e. Sitapur, Bharatpur, Neil Kendra, Lakshmanpur and Ram Nagar. Neil Kendra is main market and administrative setup of this Island. The Islands also known as a Vegetable for Andaman due to the Agriculture is the primary occupation of the villagers, and this island supplies vegetables to the rest of Andaman Islands.
There is only one Harbour located in this Island which is at Bharatpur. It is the only entry point for this Island and Foreign Tourist required RAP (Restricted Area Permit) to visit this Island which will be issued on arrival at Port Blair Airport.
Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island) is very Peaceful Island and very famous for its wide Pristine Sandy Beaches. The sea water is very clear and in the colour of light blue, dark blue and green. The famous beaches of this Island are Sitapur Beach, Bharatpur Beach and Lakshmanpur Beach. There are regular ferries are available to available to reach Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island) which operated by Government and Private Bodies. The Journey to this Island by ferry is approx hours.

Bharatpur Beach is situated at a distance of 500 metres from the central and chaotic market in the Shaheed Dweep (Neil island). The Bharatpur Beach is known as the coral capital in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands because of the variety and quantity of corals found at the bottom of the sea.
Natural Bridge is a prime attraction in Shaheed Dweep (Neil island). The bridge is a natural formation of rocks and earth, decorated by creepers and flowers that is visited by many tourists. The bridge, also called the Howrah Bridge is a pristine location for undertaking photography and to enjoy the glorious sight.
